They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and beautiful windows need gorgeous frames! Eyebrow styles have varied widely over the years (and I think we all went a bit crazy in the 90s – any over-pluckers out there?!) but perfect eyebrows are always in fashion. There are several ways to get those eyebrows on point for the festive season, and we’ll have a look at a few of them here to help you decide on the look you’d like.

Standard Wax and Shape

If you’ve got brows that need taming, then this is a great option for you. We use wax to remove the worst offenders, then give you the shape you’re after with the tweezers. I always make sure your skin is calmed afterwards from the effects of the wax.

HD Brows

This one is great if you want to take a more comprehensive approach to your brow styling than the standard wax and shape offers, and includes a tint as well to enhance your natural colour. If you have got overplucked brows, we can talk about the best way to encourage regrowth and work on a shape for you over the longer term.

Henna Brows

Henna brows are a type of tinting that stains the skin as well as the hair. The hair tint can last up to 6 weeks, and the skin tint up to 10 days. It’s a great option for filling out those overplucked brows, or for filling them temporarily to try out something new. It’s not the traditional red colour you may associated with henna, either – henna brows are more toned-down and subtle to give as natural a look as possible.

Microblading

This is not a service I offer – it’s a semi-permanent option that uses a type of tattooing technique to create a brow shape. It usually lasts around 1-3 years.

When I do come to treat your brows, I like to offer a few Do and Don’t tips for care before and after your waxing treatment – it just makes the effects of the waxing less harsh on your skin, and minimises the chance of any problems arising as a result of your treatment:

  • Do exfoliate 48 hours before your treatment, and don’t use hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms for a couple of days beforehand.
  • Don’t worry about red spots that may appear on the skin after treatment. They will fade within 24 hours.
  • Do moisturise regularly, and use a tea tree cream to soothe irritation until it subsides.
  • Do exfoliate a couple of days after your treatment to postpone regrowth.

Also, please remember that if you’re having an eyebrow tint for the first time with me, you will need to have a patch test at least 24 hours before treatment. You will be contacted to arrange the test after booking your treatment, and there is a £5 deposit payable for all patch tests. (Successful completion of a patch test doesn’t guarantee that an allergic reaction will not occur.)

I’d love to help you get your brows looking perfect in time for this year’s festive season – which hopefully will see the return of the traditional Christmas party season too!
