† PATCH TEST REQUIRED FOR INITIAL TREATMENT OF Eyelash Tint †
Polite note: Please take into account that once applied the shade is set for 14 days (on average) and cannot be ‘lightened’ up.
A patch test only takes five minutes to apply and needs to be carried out at least 24 hrs before your requested appointment for the Eyelash Tint treatment.
I will come to you at a location convenient for you 24 hours or more before your appointment time to carry out the patch test.
On arrival I will ask for you to complete and sign the consultation form prior to the patch test.
The patch test is a 5mm² of tint in a dipping dish then 2 drops of tint peroxide added.
With a tint brush, the two are mixed into a paste and is applied to a very discreet place on your forearm.
I choose to apply to the forearm because it’s sensitive and there is not too much hair also, some beauticians apply this behind the ear. The problem with this is that irritation behind the ear can be itched and nothing more thought of it – whereas the forearm if itchy, will make you consciously aware of this irritation.
Please note that this will leave a tiny stain but will fade in couple of days.
We allow the paste to dry naturally, and are careful not accidentally wipe it away.
If itchiness, redness or irritation occurs between time of application and 24 hours, unfortunately you cannot receive an Eyelash Tint or an eyelash tint treatment.
But any other treatment you’ve requested can of course be provided.
I will call 24 hrs after the patch test to ask if any irritation was experienced by you, if not the patch test has cleared.
I will arrive to carry out your Eyelash Tint at your requested location at the appointment time.
I will then need to find a table near a power outlet to be able to plug in any electronic equipment needed for your treatments.
I will place a chair against the wall and ask for your to sit on it with your head tilted back comfortably on a cushion against the wall.
I will then proceed to remove (if any) make-up on requested area of treatment.
I will then suggest best work needed on your Eyelash Tint.
Tint and peroxide is mixed to a paste of a quantity sufficient for 2 eyelashes plus a little more.
A Tint brush is used to apply the tint mix to the Eyelashes which takes 2 minutes.
We allow for the tint mix to develop and set into Eyelashes for 2-3 minutes.
After this – the dried tint mix is removed with a damp cotton wool ball or tissue dependant on client’s preference. We know some people just don’t like cotton wool.
I’ll then ask for you to check in the mirror and confirm the shade is correct.
I always leave a little excess in the dish so if you request that the tint is made to be a little darker I can apply the 2nd application to suit.
The 2nd tint mix is already developed therefore will only ever need 1 minute left on the Eyelashes once applied.
After this – the tint mix is removed with a damp cotton wool ball or tissue dependant on your preference.
